Nope. In the winter, you can walk to restaurants, ice fishing on the lake, or take off on your nordic skis, all in just a few blocks. Snowmobiles are also allowed in town, so you can ride from the hotel to over 85 miles of groomed trails! In the summer, the town is alive with shopping, restaurants, events, live concerts, hiking, paddleboarding, and boating; all within walking distance. If you want to visit Rocky Mountain National Park in the summer, you will want a vehicle. Good news, the park entrance is less than 2 miles away!

Yes, rentals are close by. If you take the train, the shuttle can drop you off at the rental store. Pending snow, snowmobiles can run from the rental store directly to The Wescott on a town trail. In the summer, you can ride OHV’s on many streets in Grand Lake, but you are not allowed to ride on HWY 34 so you cannot ride from the rental shop to the hotel. If you rent on the way up or bring your own, you can ride them from the hotel to all the shops and restaurants.

There are plenty of activities in the winter, like snowmobiling, skiing, ice fishing, and events. However, Grand Lake is quieter in the winter than summer. This is the perfect season for a private wedding in the middle of town.

Absolutely. There is something to do for every age and ability. From outdoor adventure to shopping to your private patio party in front of the fire table, The Wescott has something for everyone.

About 3 blocks, less than a 5 minute walk.

Shopping, cafés, ice cream, the boardwalk, scenic views, hot tub, and the fire table keep everyone happy.
